2018 just arrived and, mostly by accident, I have tripped across some new games. Yesterday some friends and I tried to kill Predator in the Ghost Recon: Wildlands timed event, which is really hard and not really all that good. So, naturally, we failed in our attempts to kill Predator in the Ghost Recon: Wildlands timed event (which is really hard and not really all that good). Lucky (or not) for us there’s still time left to do it, however, it’s difficult to picture a scenario where we beat this event.
For the most part the fight is borderline unfair and not a whole lot of fun, but I feel compelled to finish it. Only for very brief moments are you actually shooting Predator and, worst of all, you have no way of knowing how close you are to killing it (as far as we can tell). To some, the satisfaction of besting Predator is reward enough. For me, while killing it will be very satisfying, I want that Predator helmet with thermal vision. Who wouldn’t?
So, to document what will certainly be an extremely challenging quest to kill something that’s practically unkillable, here’s one of several (but hopefully few) game logs for the upcoming hunt. We learned some things yesterday, sure, but mostly we just died a lot.
Day 1 Achievement:
- Found Predator
- NA
- NA
- NA
Day 1 Takeaways:
- You die very quickly
- Nowhere is safe
- He’s invisible like all the time
- He has no fucking health bar
Day 2 Action Plan:
Currently unsure, likely panic
Trees, some overgrown bamboo patches, and rocks are scattered throughout the area and are helpful for cover but only to a point; like when it goes invisible then reappears behind you and kills you.
So we found it. We died quickly and often and nowhere is safe. Brief moments of it in visible form but mostly it’s invisible all the time. It could be one shot from death or one hundred. So yeah, panic.
I haven’t played this (and have no inclination to do so) but that’s a pretty cool thing to put in the game!

Yea the idea of the Predator event is much more intriguing then what it turned out to be.
